About Fiona

I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor with ten years of experience. I have a passion for supporting individuals through life's transitions. I have a background working with individuals from a variety of cultures and social situations including BIPOC clients and LGBTQIA clients. Feminism and anti-racism are the foundation of my counseling practice and I strive to affirm and validate my clients' intersecting identities.
I currently work predominantly from an Internal Family Systems (IFS) framework. Clients' work will center on deepening their relationship to themselves. I guide clients on a journey of ever expanding compassion and understanding towards self. I ask clients to focus on behaviors and parts of themselves they might initially want to ignore or get rid of. This focus helps clients to understand how their behavior, thoughts, and feelings, are all centered on helping them to feel safe in the world. Though our behavior often creates problems in our life, the underlying motive is emotional safety. Through a process of befriending our parts and unburdening oneself from past wounds and beliefs clients find the freedom to move through the world with more calm, confidence, and clarity.
These days I am particularly focused on supporting individuals through their journey into parenthood. After becoming a mother I realized what a profound and sometimes difficult transition it is to go from an independent adult to the caretaker for another individual. Through my journey I became interested in helping to better prepare expecting parents for what having a new baby will be like and supporting parents through this transition.
Currently I offer individual counseling and supervision through tele-health from a home office. Please see my Services page for more information.
